About the Role

The Widows and Orphans Empowerment Organization (WEWE) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Coordinator to lead the day-to-day management and implementation of the HORTISUN project. In this vital role, you will provide strategic, technical, and operational leadership to ensure project activities align with AfDB/FAPA implementation guidelines and WEWE's high standards of fiduciary compliance, ultimately empowering vulnerable communities and agricultural value chains in Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic and technical leadership for all project components, ensuring activities are on schedule and within budget.
  • Prepare comprehensive annual work plans, operational budgets, and procurement plans in collaboration with the project team.
  • Oversee financial management, procurement processes, and strict compliance with AfDB/FAPA and WEWE guidelines.
  • Ensure effective coordination among implementing partners, MSMEs, government stakeholders, and the Tomato Community of Practice.
  • Lead the preparation of accurate quarterly progress reports, annual implementation reports, mission briefs, and the final project completion report.
  • Manage, mentor, and supervise project staff to maintain high performance and ensure robust gender and youth inclusion across all interventions.
  • Represent HORTISUN in donor coordination forums, stakeholder meetings, and relevant agricultural value chain events.

Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness, Rural Development Studies, or Project Management.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in managing donor-funded agricultural development projects.
  • Demonstrated experience working with MSMEs, private sector actors, and public institutions.
  • Strong familiarity with African Development Bank (AfDB) or other multilateral donor procedures.
  • Exceptional leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and report-writing skills.
  • Fluency in English with a strong working knowledge of Hausa preferred.
