About the Role
The Green Environment and Climate Change Initiative (GRENCHI) is a registered non-governmental environmental conservation organization working across Nigeria to fight climate change and protect nature. We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Project Coordinator to oversee the day-to-day design, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of our core projects, including agroforestry and restoration interventions, youth E-STEM and environmental education programs, and community climate action initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of GRENCHI projects from inception to close-out, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery.
- Coordinate field staff, volunteers, and community facilitators across project communities while providing day-to-day supervision and technical guidance.
- Develop and apply Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) frameworks to track project indicators and document lessons learned.
- Track project budgets and expenditures in coordination with the Finance Officer for efficient and compliant resource utilization.
- Prepare high-quality narrative and technical progress reports for donors and partners in alignment with grant agreements.
- Serve as a key liaison with community leaders, government agencies, schools, and partner organizations.
- Identify and mitigate project risks while ensuring full compliance with internal policies and donor requirements.
- Support the training and mentoring of junior staff, interns, and volunteers involved in project delivery.
- BSc or MSc in Forestry, Environmental Science, Agriculture, Development Studies, Project Management, or a related field.
- Additional certification in project management represents a distinct advantage.
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in project coordination, community development, and environmental initiatives.
- Demonstrated expertise managing donor-funded projects, including budgeting, work planning, and reporting.
- Strong understanding of project management tools such as logframes, Theory of Change, and MEL frameworks.
- Familiarity with Nigeria's environmental, forestry, and climate change policy context.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, multitasking, and communication skills.
