About the Role
Iconic Open University, a fully licensed private open and distance learning institution by the National Universities Commission (NUC) in Abuja, Nigeria, invites applications from qualified academics to serve as Project Co-Supervisors for our Islamic Studies programmes. We are dedicated to maintaining rigorous academic standards, integrity, and excellence, and our project co-supervisors play an instrumental role in shaping the research output and academic journey of our undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and mentor undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects in Islamic Studies.
- Ensure academic research aligns with the institutional quality assurance standards of Iconic Open University.
- Provide constructive feedback, critical evaluations, and guidance on student theses and dissertations.
- Participate in virtual progress evaluations and collaborate with the department to maintain high scholarly standards.
- Must hold a minimum of a Ph.D. in Islamic Studies or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Must currently hold an academic rank not below Senior Lecturer; Readers and Professors are strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated track record of postgraduate supervision and a robust portfolio of research publications in reputable, peer-reviewed journals within the last three years.
- Prior experience in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) environments is a distinct advantage.
- Candidates must have no conflicts of interest, such as recent employment at Iconic Open University within the past three years or close personal/professional ties to current staff and students.
