About the Role
Amaiden Energy Nigeria Limited is a premier provider of technical staffing, inspection, and project support services to the Nigerian oil and gas industry. We are currently looking for a skilled and dedicated Project Civil Engineer (In-House) to oversee civil engineering works for our facilities management and administration projects. In this vital role, you will champion project excellence from initial scope development and technical documentation to construction supervision, stringent quality control, contractor management, and seamless project close-out across our operations in Nigeria.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs our In-House Project Civil Engineer, you will drive the successful delivery of diverse construction initiatives. Your core duties will include:
- Developing and reviewing civil engineering scopes, specifications, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), drawings, and technical documentation.
- Evaluating contractor and consultant drawings to guarantee strict compliance with project requirements and company standards.
- Supervising civil construction works on-site, continuously monitoring quality, construction progress, and overall workmanship.
- Identifying construction defects and non-conformances promptly, enforcing immediate and effective corrective actions.
- Coordinating seamlessly between contractors, consultants, user departments, and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Conducting weekly project meetings, producing detailed minutes, managing action trackers, and writing comprehensive progress reports.
- Monitoring potential project constraints, quality issues, health, safety, and environment (HSE) matters, and schedule risks.
- Reviewing approved-for-construction drawings and managing technical queries effectively.
- Maintaining meticulous project documentation, inspection records, technical reports, and comprehensive handover files.
- Acting as the site operating authority to ensure total adherence to construction HSE requirements.
To qualify for this exciting opportunity with Amaiden Energy Nigeria Limited, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Civil Engineering or a recognized equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience spanning civil engineering, construction, engineering consultancy, or project delivery.
- Demonstrated experience within the Oil & Gas sector, specifically focused on project engineering, construction, or facilities projects.
- Professional engineering certification or active membership such as COREN, NSE, or an equivalent body is a strong advantage.
- Proven expertise in civil construction supervision, site execution, and robust contractor management.
- Demonstrated ability in preparing BOQs, technical specifications, scopes of work, and progress documentation.
- High proficiency in standard software including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Project.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder coordination, reporting, and problem-solving capabilities.
