About the Role
Ascentech Services Limited is currently recruiting a dedicated Construction Materials Laboratory Technician to join our professional team in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining the structural integrity and quality standards of various building and civil engineering projects by performing rigorous testing on construction materials.
Key Responsibilities- Collect, prepare, and rigorously test construction material samples including soil, concrete, asphalt, and aggregates.
- Conduct essential soil tests such as moisture content, sieve analysis, Atterberg limits, Proctor, and CBR.
- Perform concrete evaluations including slump tests, sampling, cube preparation, and compressive-strength analysis.
- Execute asphalt and aggregate assessments covering gradation, density, bitumen content, and Marshall mix-design tests.
- Carry out accurate field density measurements and other on-site material testing procedures.
- Operate, clean, calibrate, and meticulously maintain specialized laboratory and field equipment.
- Record test results with high precision and draft comprehensive laboratory and field inspection reports.
- Ensure all testing protocols strictly comply with approved industry procedures and safety standards.
- Minimum of OND, HND, or BSc in Civil Engineering, Geology, Building Technology, Materials Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven practical experience in testing soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregates, and other construction materials.
- Strong working knowledge of standard testing procedures, methodologies, and quality assurance frameworks.
- Proficiency in operating advanced laboratory and on-site field-testing equipment.
- Exceptional documentation, data recording, and technical reporting skills.
