About the Role
The Institute of Genomics and Global Health (IGH) is a pioneering research institute dedicated to advancing public health in Africa through cutting-edge genomics. Evolving from the African Centre of Excellence for Genomics of Infectious Diseases (ACEGID), IGH now expands its impact to cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and precision medicine. We are currently seeking a highly organized and proactive Project and Logistics Coordinator to support the STRIDE (Scientific Training and Research in Infectious Disease Genomics and Entrepreneurship) program. In this role based in Ede, Osun, you will manage participant logistics, academic program milestones, and professional placements across pan-African partner institutions, ensuring a seamless journey for the next generation of African scientists.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate logistics for student recruitment, onboarding, travel, visa processing, accommodation, relocation support, and stipend administration for MSc and PhD candidates.
- Manage logistical operations for 12-month professional transition-to-work fellowships at National Public Health Institutes and accredited laboratories across Africa.
- Support the Training Coordinator in organizing bootcamps, short courses, and workshops, including venue arrangements, participant travel, and training materials.
- Maintain implementation trackers, dashboards, and records to monitor program timelines, deliverables, and participant milestones.
- Liaise closely with finance, procurement, and international partner institutions to facilitate timely processing of expenses and maintain smooth administrative workflows.
- Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, International Development, or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience in project coordination, program administration, or international academic program logistics.
- Proven expertise in managing travel, visas, accommodation, and participant support for multi-country initiatives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and modern project tracking tools.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and cross-cultural communication skills, with French language proficiency being a strong asset.
