About the Role
Ascentech Services Limited is seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Project Accountant to join our dynamic team in Abuja. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing the financial and accounting activities of complex engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects, ensuring fiscal health, compliance, and accurate reporting across all operations.
Key Responsibilities- Manage day-to-day accounting and financial operations for designated EPC projects.
- Monitor project costs, budgets, expenses, and overall financial performance against targets.
- Prepare comprehensive project financial reports, statements, and detailed cost analyses.
- Track expenditures meticulously, identifying and reporting budget variances promptly.
- Process, verify, and reconcile invoices, payments, receivables, and payables.
- Review vendor and subcontractor invoices alongside supporting project documentation.
- Support strategic project budgeting, forecasting, and effective cash-flow management.
- Reconcile bank accounts, general ledgers, and specific project accounts accurately.
- Ensure strict compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
- 1 to 3 years of relevant accounting experience within EPC, engineering, construction, oil and gas, or project-based environments.
- Solid understanding of project accounting principles and cost control mechanisms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and modern accounting or ERP software.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Must be currently based in or willing to relocate to Abuja for work.
