About the Role
Ascentech Services Limited is seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to join our dynamic team in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a crucial part in overseeing the financial health of complex engineering, procurement, and construction operations, ensuring that all projects remain profitable, compliant, and strictly within budget.
Key Responsibilities- Manage day-to-day accounting activities and financial workflows for dedicated EPC projects.
- Monitor project costs, budgets, operating expenses, and overall financial performance.
- Prepare comprehensive project financial reports, statements, and detailed cost analyses.
- Track expenditures against approved budgets, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
- Process, verify, and reconcile invoices, payments, receivables, and payables efficiently.
- Support project budgeting, accurate forecasting, and strategic cash-flow management.
- Reconcile bank accounts, general ledgers, and specialized project accounts routinely.
- Monitor purchase orders, contractual commitments, and ongoing project expenses.
- Ensure strict compliance with applicable accounting standards, Nigerian tax regulations, and internal company policies.
- Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
- 1 to 4 years of relevant accounting experience within an EPC, engineering, construction, oil and gas, or project-based environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of specialized project accounting principles and cost control mechanisms.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and modern accounting or ERP software systems.
- Strong knowledge of corporate financial reporting, auditing standards, and bank reconciliations.
- Exceptional analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
