About the Role

UN Women, the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women, is looking for a dynamic and results-driven Programme Analyst - Affirmative Procurement to join our team in Nigeria. In this vital role, you will champion gender equality by leading the national component of the project on Women’s Economic Empowerment through Affirmative Finance in West Africa. Your work will directly accelerate economic opportunities for women-led SMEs, enhance institutional policies, and foster inclusive financial services across the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as project officer for the national component of the Women’s Economic Empowerment through Affirmative Finance project, leading local implementation and stakeholder coordination.
  • Provide technical assistance and advisory support on affirmative finance and gender-responsive procurement to institutional partners and women-led SMEs.
  • Manage financial resources, including budgeting, budget revisions, expenditure tracking, and comprehensive donor reporting.
  • Design and deliver capacity building initiatives and training programs using Results Based Management principles.
  • Contribute to resource mobilization strategies, partnership building, and inter-agency coordination efforts in Nigeria.
  • Monitor programme progress, evaluate results against indicators, and provide timely inputs for quarterly and donor reports.

Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in social sciences, human rights, gender studies, international development, or a related field (a first-level degree with two additional years of experience may be accepted).
  • Minimum of 1 year of progressively responsible experience in development programme implementation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Demonstrated experience in public policy, strategy supporting women entrepreneurship, and gender/public procurement procedures in West Africa.
  • Strong knowledge of Results Based Management, project budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Professional project management certification (such as PMP or PRINCE2) is an added advantage.
