The Federal University of Lafia invites applications from suitably qualified and dynamic academic leaders for the prestigious position of Professor of Veterinary Physiology and Biochemistry within our esteemed Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. Established in 2011, our institution is committed to advancing quality tertiary education, cutting-edge research, and community development in Nigeria. As a Professor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of veterinary education, mentoring the next generation of veterinary professionals, and contributing to the growth of our dynamic academic community in Nasarawa State.
Key Responsibilities- Provide academic leadership in teaching, research, and curriculum development within the Department of Veterinary Physiology and Biochemistry.
- Deliver engaging undergraduate and postgraduate lectures, seminars, and practical training sessions.
- Supervise undergraduate research projects as well as postgraduate students at the Master's and PhD levels to successful completion.
- Conduct high-impact, peer-reviewed research and publish extensively in reputable local and international indexed journals.
- Contribute to departmental, faculty, and university-wide administrative duties, committees, and community engagement initiatives.
- Secure research grants and foster collaborative partnerships with local and international veterinary and agricultural institutions.
- Must currently hold the rank of Professor or possess equivalent academic standing in Veterinary Physiology and Biochemistry.
- A minimum of twenty (20) scholarly publications, with at least sixteen (16) in print.
- At least four (4) publications must feature in at least three (3) different and regularly published foreign index journals.
- Demonstrated verifiable evidence of successfully supervising to completion at least three (3) Master's degree candidates and one (1) PhD candidate.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with a proven track record of academic integrity.
