The Federal University of Lafia invites applications from suitably qualified and dynamic academics for the prestigious position of Professor of Veterinary Parasitology within our esteemed Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. As a Professor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of veterinary science through rigorous teaching, groundbreaking research, and mentorship of the next generation of veterinary professionals.
Key Responsibilities- Provide academic leadership in the Department of Veterinary Parasitology and the broader Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
- Teach, mentor, and assess undergraduate and postgraduate students in veterinary parasitology and related disciplines.
- Conduct high-level academic research and publish findings in reputable local and international peer-reviewed journals.
- Supervise postgraduate students, including Masters and PhD candidates, through to successful completion of their research degrees.
- Participate in curriculum development, departmental administration, and university-wide committees as assigned.
- Engage in community service and institutional advancement initiatives that promote animal health and agricultural productivity in Nigeria.
- Must currently hold the rank of Professor in Veterinary Parasitology or a closely related discipline from a recognized university.
- Demonstrate a robust publication record with a minimum of twenty (20) academic publications, including at least sixteen (16) in print.
- Must have at least four (4) publications featured in at least three (3) different and regularly published foreign index journals.
- Provide verifiable evidence of successful supervision to completion of at least three (3) Masters degrees and one (1) PhD degree.
- Possess strong leadership, administrative, and interpersonal skills suited for a dynamic academic environment.
