The Federal University Lafia invites applications from suitably qualified and dynamic academics for the prestigious position of Professor in Veterinary Microbiology within our esteemed Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. Established in 2011, our institution is rapidly growing and committed to delivering high-quality education, cutting-edge research, and impactful community service in Nigeria.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Professor of Veterinary Microbiology, you will provide academic leadership in teaching, research, and curriculum development. Your core duties will include:
- Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Veterinary Microbiology and related disciplines.
- Mentoring junior academic staff and fostering a vibrant research culture within the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
- Supervising undergraduate and postgraduate research projects to successful completion.
- Contributing to departmental and university-wide administrative duties, committee work, and community engagement initiatives.
- Securing research grants and publishing high-impact scholarly articles in reputable local and international journals.
Applicants for this senior academic position must meet the following rigorous criteria:
- Must currently hold the rank of Professor in Veterinary Microbiology or a closely related field.
- Possess a robust academic portfolio with a minimum of twenty (20) scholarly publications.
- Must have at least sixteen (16) publications in print, out of which four (4) must be featured in at least three (3) different and regularly published foreign indexed journals.
- Demonstrate verifiable evidence of successfully supervising at least three (3) Master's degree candidates and one (1) Ph.D. candidate to completion.
