The Federal University Lafia invites applications from distinguished and suitably qualified candidates for the position of Professor in Veterinary Anatomy within the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. Established in 2011, our institution is dedicated to expanding access to high-quality higher education in Nigeria. We are seeking an academic leader with a strong commitment to teaching, research, and institutional development to help shape the future of veterinary medicine in the region.
Key Responsibilities- Provide academic leadership in the Department of Veterinary Anatomy within the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
- Teach, mentor, and examine undergraduate and postgraduate students in veterinary anatomy and related disciplines.
- Supervise postgraduate research projects, specifically guiding Master and PhD candidates to successful completion.
- Conduct high-impact, peer-reviewed research and maintain an active publishing profile in reputable local and international journals.
- Contribute to curriculum development, departmental administration, and academic quality assurance.
- Engage in community service and institutional advancement initiatives on behalf of the university.
- Must currently hold the rank of Professor or be an eligible Reader/Associate Professor ready for progression, specializing in Veterinary Anatomy.
- Possess a minimum of twenty (20) scholarly publications, with at least sixteen (16) in print.
- Out of the printed publications, at least four (4) must be featured in three (3) different and regularly published foreign index journals.
- Demonstrated evidence of successful supervision to completion of at least three (3) Master degrees and one (1) PhD degree.
- Strong interpersonal, administrative, and leadership skills suited for a dynamic academic environment.
