About the Role
The Federal University Lafia invites applications from suitably qualified and dynamic academics for the prestigious position of Professor in Urban and Regional Planning within our esteemed Faculty of Environmental Design. Established in 2011, our institution is committed to expanding access to quality higher education and fostering innovative research that addresses national and global developmental challenges. As a Professor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our academic programs, driving cutting-edge research initiatives, and providing visionary leadership to both undergraduate and postgraduate students in a vibrant scholarly community located in Nasarawa State, Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Provide academic leadership in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning and the Faculty of Environmental Design.
- Teach, mentor, and evaluate undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Supervise Masters and PhD dissertations to successful completion.
- Conduct high-impact, peer-reviewed research and publish extensively in reputable local and international journals.
- Contribute to curriculum development, program accreditation, and departmental administration.
- Engage in community service and institutional advancement activities.
- Must currently hold the rank of Professor in Urban and Regional Planning or a closely related discipline.
- Possess a minimum of twenty (20) scholarly publications, with at least sixteen (16) in print.
- Must have at least four (4) publications featured in three (3) different and regularly published foreign indexed journals.
- Demonstrated evidence of successful supervision of at least three (3) Masters degrees and one (1) PhD degree to completion.
- Strong track record of academic administration, teaching excellence, and grant procurement.
