About the Role
Federal University Lafia was established in February 2011 with the mandate to increase access and quality of university education in Nigeria. Located in the capital of Nasarawa State, the institution is rapidly expanding its academic footprint through diverse undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. We are currently seeking a distinguished Professor of Theatre and Media Arts to join our vibrant Faculty of Arts and contribute to our academic leadership and research output.
Key Responsibilities- Provide visionary academic leadership in teaching, curriculum development, and research within the Department of Theatre and Media Arts.
- Supervise undergraduate research projects and guide postgraduate students to successful completion.
- Publish cutting-edge research in reputable national and international peer-reviewed journals.
- Participate actively in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees to drive institutional growth and development.
- Engage in community service and foster valuable partnerships with relevant cultural and media industries.
- Must currently hold the rank of Professor or demonstrate equivalent distinguished academic standing.
- Possess a robust portfolio of at least twenty (20) scholarly publications, with sixteen (16) in print, including four (4) articles in at least three (3) different and regularly published foreign index journals.
- Demonstrate verifiable evidence of successful supervision to completion of at least three (3) Master's degrees and one (1) PhD degree.
- Exemplary track record of teaching excellence, academic administration, and professional integrity within the tertiary education sector.
