Federal University Lafia invites dynamic and accomplished academic leaders to apply for the position of Professor of Surgery within our prestigious College of Medicine, Faculty of Clinical Sciences. As a key contributor to our growing institution, you will play a pivotal role in advancing medical education, cutting-edge surgical research, and high-quality clinical healthcare standards in Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Provide academic leadership in the Department of Surgery within the Faculty of Clinical Sciences.
- Teach, mentor, and evaluate undergraduate and postgraduate medical students.
- Supervise postgraduate research projects, including Master's and PhD dissertations.
- Conduct high-impact research and publish scholarly articles in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
- Participate in curriculum development, departmental administration, and community health initiatives.
- Collaborate with teaching hospitals to deliver exceptional clinical care and practical training.
- Must currently hold the rank of Professor in Surgery or a closely related medical discipline.
- Possess a minimum of twenty (20) scholarly publications, with at least sixteen (16) in print.
- Must have at least four (4) publications featured in at least three (3) different and regularly published foreign index journals.
- Demonstrated evidence of successful supervision to completion of at least three (3) Master's degrees and one (1) PhD degree.
- Valid medical license and registration with the relevant professional regulatory body in Nigeria.
