About the Role
The Federal University Lafia invites applications from suitably qualified and dynamic academics for the prestigious position of Professor in Special Needs and Rehabilitation Education within our esteemed Faculty of Education. Established in 2011, our institution is committed to expanding access to high-quality higher education and fostering groundbreaking research in Nigeria. As a Professor, you will play a pivotal leadership role in shaping curriculum development, mentoring the next generation of educators, and driving impactful research initiatives that address critical developmental needs in society.
Key Responsibilities- Provide academic and administrative leadership within the Department of Special Needs and Rehabilitation Education.
- Teach, mentor, and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students, including Masters and PhD candidates.
- Conduct high-impact, peer-reviewed research and publish extensively in reputable national and international journals.
- Contribute to curriculum design, review, and innovative teaching methodologies aligned with global standards.
- Participate actively in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees, as well as community engagement initiatives.
- Secure research grants and foster collaborative partnerships with local and international educational bodies.
- Must currently hold the rank of Professor or be an exceptionally qualified Reader seeking career advancement.
- Possess a minimum of twenty (20) scholarly publications, with at least sixteen (16) in print.
- Of the printed publications, at least four (4) must be featured in three (3) different and regularly published foreign indexed journals.
- Demonstrated evidence of successful supervision to completion of at least three (3) Masters degrees and one (1) PhD degree.
- Strong track record in teaching, academic administration, and community service within a tertiary institution.
