Federal University Lafia invites applications from distinguished and suitably qualified academic leaders for the position of Professor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology within the Faculty of Clinical Sciences. Established in 2011, our institution is committed to advancing quality tertiary education, cutting-edge medical research, and exceptional healthcare training in Nigeria. As a Professor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of medical professionals, driving impactful research initiatives, and contributing to the strategic growth of our rapidly expanding College of Medicine in Lafia, Nasarawa State.
Key Responsibilities- Provide academic leadership in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology within the Faculty of Clinical Sciences.
- Teach, mentor, and examine undergraduate medical students and postgraduate resident doctors.
- Supervise postgraduate research candidates at both Master's and PhD levels to successful completion.
- Conduct high-impact research and publish scholarly articles in reputable peer-reviewed local and international journals.
- Collaborate with teaching hospitals and healthcare partners to deliver exceptional clinical services and community health programmes.
- Participate in curriculum development, departmental administration, and university committees as assigned by the management.
- Must currently hold the rank of Professor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology or possess equivalent academic standing.
- Demonstrate a robust publication record comprising a minimum of twenty (20) academic publications, with at least sixteen (16) in print.
- At least four (4) publications must be featured in three (3) different and regularly published foreign index journals.
- Provide verifiable evidence of successful supervision to completion of at least three (3) Master's degrees and one (1) PhD degree.
- Possess current registration and relevant practicing licenses with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
