Thomas Adewumi University (TAU), located in Oko Irese, Kwara State, is seeking a visionary and accomplished academic for the position of Professor in Private and Commercial Law. Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be expected to:
- Provide academic leadership in the Department of Private and Commercial Law, shaping curriculum development and departmental strategy.
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate law courses with a high standard of pedagogical excellence.
- Supervise Master's and Ph.D. research students to successful completion.
- Conduct high-impact research and publish extensively in peer-reviewed, reputable local and international law journals.
- Participate actively in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees and community development initiatives.
- Mentor junior faculty members and foster a collaborative, intellectually stimulating academic environment.
Candidates applying for this role must meet the following criteria:
- Must possess a Ph.D. in Law with a specialization in Private and Commercial Law from a recognized and accredited university.
- Demonstrate a proven record of excellence in teaching, academic research, and high-impact scholarly publications.
- Possess a minimum of 15 years of teaching and research experience in a recognized tertiary institution, including at least 3-5 years served at the Associate Professor level.
- Provide verifiable evidence of successful postgraduate student supervision at both Master's and Ph.D. levels.
- Show active participation in university community service and relevant professional legal bodies.
