The Federal University Lafia invites applications from suitably qualified and dynamic academics for the position of Professor in Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry within our esteemed Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences. As a Professor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of pharmaceutical education, mentoring the next generation of pharmacists and scientists, and driving groundbreaking research initiatives in a vibrant academic environment located in the heart of Nasarawa State.
Key Responsibilities- Provide academic leadership in the Department of Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry, guiding curriculum development and course delivery.
- Conduct high-impact, peer-reviewed research and publish findings in reputable local and international journals.
- Supervise undergraduate students and successfully mentor postgraduate candidates to the completion of their Master's and PhD degrees.
- Participate actively in departmental, faculty, and university-wide administrative duties, committees, and community engagement programs.
- Secure research grants and foster collaborative partnerships with pharmaceutical industries and research institutions.
- Must currently hold the rank of Professor in Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry or a closely related discipline.
- Possess a robust academic portfolio comprising at least twenty (20) scholarly publications, with sixteen (16) in print.
- Demonstrate evidence of publishing at least four (4) papers in a minimum of three (3) different and regularly published foreign index journals.
- Provide verifiable evidence of successfully supervising to completion at least three (3) Master's degree candidates and one (1) PhD candidate.
