Federal University Lafia invites applications from suitably qualified and dynamic scholars for the prestigious position of Professor in Library and Information Science. Established in 2011, our institution is committed to academic excellence, innovative research, and expanding access to quality university education in Nigeria. As a Professor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the curriculum, mentoring the next generation of scholars, and driving impactful research within the Faculty of Social Sciences.
Key Responsibilities- Provide academic leadership in teaching, research, and community service within the Department of Library and Information Science.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research, including Master's and PhD candidates.
- Design, evaluate, and update curriculum content to meet global academic and industry standards.
- Publish high-impact research in reputable national and international peer-reviewed journals.
- Participate actively in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees and administrative duties.
- Must currently hold the rank of Professor in Library and Information Science or a closely related field.
- Possess a robust publication record of at least 20 academic publications, with 16 in print.
- Must have at least 4 publications in at least three different and regularly published foreign indexed journals.
- Demonstrated evidence of successful supervision of at least three (3) Master's degrees and one (1) PhD degree to completion.
