About the Role
Federal University Lafia invites applications from suitably qualified and accomplished academics for the position of Professor of Information Technology within our dynamic Faculty of Computing. Established in 2011, our institution is committed to advancing quality university education, impactful research, and community development in Nigeria. As a Professor, you will play a pivotal leadership role in shaping the academic and research direction of the department, fostering innovation, and contributing to the holistic development of undergraduate and postgraduate students in a rapidly growing academic environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide visionary academic leadership in teaching, research, and curriculum development within the Department of Information Technology.
- Lecture, mentor, and supervise undergraduate students as well as postgraduate students at Master and PhD levels.
- Drive cutting-edge research and publish scholarly articles in reputable peer-reviewed national and international journals.
- Contribute to the administrative duties of the Faculty of Computing and participate in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees.
- Establish academic linkages, partnerships, and collaborations with industry stakeholders and international academic institutions.
- Must currently hold the rank of Professor or be exceptionally qualified for promotion to the rank of Professor in Information Technology or a closely related field.
- Possess a robust academic portfolio comprising at least twenty (20) scholarly publications, with sixteen (16) in print, out of which four (4) must be published in at least three (3) different and regularly published foreign indexed journals.
- Demonstrate verifiable evidence of successful supervision of at least three (3) Master degrees and one (1) PhD degree to completion.
- Possess a strong track record of academic leadership, grant acquisition, and community service.
