About the Role
Wellspring University, a prestigious institution founded on Christian ethics and principles, is seeking a dynamic and accomplished academic leader to fill the position of Professor of Information Technology within our esteemed Faculty of Computing. Located in Benin City, Edo State, our institution is dedicated to moulding well-rounded scholars equipped with the intellectual depth and moral strength required to drive national and global technological advancement.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional academic leadership within the Department of Information Technology and the broader Faculty of Computing.
- Engage in high-impact teaching, curriculum development, and mentorship for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Supervise postgraduate research projects, including Master's and PhD dissertations.
- Drive innovative research initiatives and maintain a robust publication record in reputable, peer-reviewed international journals.
- Collaborate with institutional leadership to foster local and international academic partnerships, industry linkages, and community development programmes.
- Participate actively in departmental, faculty, and university-wide administrative duties and committees.
- Must possess a PhD in Information Technology or a closely related computing discipline from a recognized university.
- Demonstrate a minimum of ten (10) years of cognate university teaching, research, and administrative experience.
- Provide evidence of outstanding academic leadership and a substantial portfolio of publications in reputable peer-reviewed outlets.
- Possess extensive experience in postgraduate teaching, student supervision, and curriculum design.
- Demonstrate high ICT proficiency with strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- Hold current professional memberships and valid practising licences where applicable.
