The Federal University Lafia invites applications from distinguished and suitably qualified academic leaders for the prestigious position of Professor of Industrial Design within our esteemed Faculty of Environmental Design. As a Professor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the curriculum, mentoring the next generation of designers, and driving impactful research initiatives that address both local and global design challenges.
Key Responsibilities- Provide visionary academic and administrative leadership within the Department of Industrial Design.
- Teach, mentor, and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students, including Masters and PhD candidates.
- Conduct cutting-edge research and publish scholarly articles in reputable local and international index journals.
- Contribute to curriculum development, departmental administration, and community engagement initiatives.
- Collaborate with industry stakeholders to enhance practical learning and research applications in industrial design.
- Must currently hold the rank of Professor or be exceptionally qualified for promotion to the professorial cadre.
- Possess a strong publication record with a minimum of twenty (20) scholarly publications, including at least sixteen (16) in print.
- Must have at least four (4) publications featured in a minimum of three (3) different and regularly published foreign index journals.
- Demonstrated evidence of successful supervision to completion of at least three (3) Masters degrees and one (1) PhD degree.
- Exemplary track record in teaching, academic leadership, and institutional development.
