About the Role
Federal University Lafia invites applications from suitably qualified and dynamic academics for the prestigious position of Professor of Industrial Design within our esteemed Faculty of Environmental Design. Established in 2011, our institution is committed to expanding access to quality higher education and fostering innovative research in Nigeria. As a Professor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the curriculum, guiding groundbreaking research, and mentoring the next generation of design professionals in a vibrant academic community located in Lafia, Nasarawa State.
Key Responsibilities- Provide academic leadership in the Department of Industrial Design by developing and delivering high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate curricula.
- Supervise undergraduate research projects as well as postgraduate students at Master and PhD levels to successful completion.
- Conduct cutting-edge research and publish scholarly articles in reputable local and international journals.
- Engage in departmental, faculty, and university-wide administrative duties, including committee participation and curriculum review.
- Foster partnerships with industry stakeholders to enhance practical learning and professional opportunities for students.
- Must currently hold the rank of Professor or be an eligible Reader/Associate Professor ready for promotion, specializing in Industrial Design or a closely related field.
- Must possess a robust academic portfolio comprising at least twenty (20) scholarly publications.
- Must have a minimum of sixteen (16) publications in print, out of which at least four (4) must be featured in three (3) different and regularly published foreign index journals.
- Demonstrated evidence of successful supervision of at least three (3) Master degrees and one (1) PhD degree to completion.
