The Federal University Lafia invites dynamic and accomplished academic leaders to apply for the position of Professor of Human Physiology within our prestigious Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences. As a Professor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of medical education, mentoring the next generation of healthcare professionals, and driving innovative research in human physiology.
Key Responsibilities- Provide visionary academic and administrative leadership within the Department of Human Physiology.
- Teach, mentor, and evaluate undergraduate and postgraduate students in the College of Medicine and Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences.
- Supervise postgraduate research students at both Masters and PhD levels to successful completion.
- Conduct high-impact, peer-reviewed research and secure external research grants.
- Contribute to curriculum development and participate in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees.
- Engage in community service and institutional advancement initiatives that align with the university mandate.
- Must currently hold the rank of Professor or be a senior Reader/Associate Professor ready for promotion, specializing in Human Physiology.
- Possess a robust academic portfolio with a minimum of twenty (20) scholarly publications.
- Must have at least sixteen (16) publications in print, out of which four (4) must be published in at least three (3) different and regularly published foreign indexed journals.
- Demonstrated evidence of successful supervision to completion of at least three (3) Masters degrees and one (1) PhD degree.
