Federal University Lafia, a fast-growing institution established to expand access to quality higher education in Nigeria, is seeking a distinguished academic for the position of Professor of Human Anatomy. Located in the heart of Nasarawa State, our institution boasts a thriving College of Medicine committed to producing world-class healthcare professionals. We are looking for an exceptional scholar and educator to lead our academic staff, mentor the next generation of medical practitioners, and advance our institutional research profile within the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences.
Key Responsibilities- Provide academic leadership in the Department of Human Anatomy within the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences.
- Teach, mentor, and examine undergraduate and postgraduate students in human anatomy and related medical courses.
- Supervise undergraduate research projects as well as postgraduate students at Master and PhD levels.
- Conduct high-impact, peer-reviewed research and publish extensively in reputable local and international journals.
- Participate in curriculum development, departmental administration, and academic committee duties.
- Collaborate with academic and industry partners to foster research grants and community health initiatives.
- Must currently hold the rank of Professor in Human Anatomy or a closely related medical discipline.
- Possess a robust academic portfolio comprising at least twenty (20) scholarly publications.
- Must have sixteen (16) publications in print, with a minimum of four (4) published in at least three (3) different, regularly published foreign index journals.
- Demonstrated evidence of successful supervision to completion of at least three (3) Master degrees and one (1) PhD degree.
