About the Role
Federal University Lafia, a vibrant and rapidly growing institution established in February 2011 in Nasarawa State, invites applications from suitably qualified academics for the prestigious position of Professor of French in the Faculty of Arts. Key Responsibilities- Provide strong academic leadership in teaching, research, and community service within the Department of French.
- Teach, mentor, and inspire undergraduate and postgraduate students in French language, literature, and cultural studies.
- Supervise postgraduate students, specifically guiding Masters and PhD candidates to successful degree completion.
- Contribute actively to curriculum development, departmental administration, and faculty meetings.
- Initiate and publish high-impact scholarly research in reputable national and international peer-reviewed journals.
- Secure research grants and foster academic partnerships with national and international institutions.
- Must currently hold the rank of Professor or be an exceptionally qualified Reader ready for promotion.
- Possess a minimum of twenty (20) academic publications, out of which sixteen (16) must be in print.
- At least four (4) publications must feature in three (3) different and regularly published foreign index journals.
- Provide verifiable evidence of successful supervision to completion of at least three (3) Masters degrees and one (1) PhD degree.
- Demonstrate extensive teaching experience within a recognized tertiary institution.
