Wellspring University, a prestigious institution founded on Christian ethics and principles, is seeking a dynamic and accomplished academic leader to fill the position of Professor (Film and Multimedia). Located in Benin City, Edo State, our institution is dedicated to moulding the new Nigerian through intellectual rigor and moral strength. We are looking for an exceptional scholar to drive our academic programmes, foster cutting-edge research, and mentor the next generation of media professionals within our Faculty of Social and Management Sciences.
Key Responsibilities- Provide visionary academic and administrative leadership in the Film and Multimedia department.
- Deliver engaging, high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate lectures using modern pedagogical methods and ICT tools.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects, including master's theses and PhD dissertations.
- Conduct impactful research and publish extensively in reputable peer-reviewed local and international journals.
- Drive curriculum development and innovation in film, multimedia, and allied creative arts disciplines.
- Foster strategic academic collaborations, industry partnerships, and community engagement initiatives.
- Participate actively in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees and administrative duties.
- Must possess a PhD in Film, Multimedia, Mass Communication, or a closely related relevant discipline.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of cognate teaching and research experience in a recognized university.
- Demonstrated outstanding academic leadership and a substantial, verifiable record of publications in reputable peer-reviewed outlets.
- Proven track record of significant postgraduate teaching, supervision, and curriculum design.
- Proficiency in ICT with strong communication, interpersonal, and team-building skills.
- Current professional registration and valid practising licences where applicable.
