Key Responsibilities
  • Provide academic leadership in the Department of Economics by designing, updating, and delivering comprehensive undergraduate and postgraduate curricula.
  • Conduct high-impact, peer-reviewed research and publish extensively in reputable local and international academic journals.
  • Mentor junior faculty members and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects, including theses and dissertations.
  • Participate actively in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees, contributing to institutional governance and strategic development.
  • Engage in community service and forge academic partnerships with industry stakeholders, policy-makers, and professional bodies to enhance the university's visibility and impact.
  • Utilize modern ICT tools and digital learning management systems to enhance pedagogy and student engagement.

Qualifications
  • Hold a PhD in Economics or a closely related relevant field from a recognized and accredited university.
  • Must have served as an Associate Professor for a minimum of 2 years with a progressive track record in academia.
  • Possess a minimum of 25 peer-reviewed journal publications in reputable outlets, including at least 5 publications indexed in Scopus or Web of Science.
  • Demonstrable ICT proficiency with the ability to integrate technology into teaching and research.
  • Active membership in relevant professional economic bodies is mandatory.
  • Possession of a mandatory NYSC discharge certificate or valid exemption certificate.
