About the Role
The Federal University Lafia invites applications from suitably qualified and dynamic academics for the prestigious position of Professor in Community Medicine within the Faculty of Clinical Sciences. Established in 2011, our institution is committed to expanding access to quality higher education and advancing impactful research in Nigeria. As a Professor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of medical professionals, driving innovative public health research, and contributing to the strategic growth of our expanding College of Medicine located in Nasarawa State.
Key Responsibilities- Provide academic leadership in the Department of Community Medicine within the Faculty of Clinical Sciences.
- Teach, mentor, and supervise undergraduate medical students and postgraduate scholars.
- Supervise postgraduate research candidates to the successful completion of their Master's and PhD degrees.
- Conduct high-impact research and publish scholarly articles in reputable local and international index journals.
- Participate in curriculum development, departmental administration, and university committee assignments.
- Engage in community health outreach and foster strategic partnerships with healthcare institutions.
- Must currently hold the rank of Professor or be a senior academic ready for progression within a recognized university.
- Possess a robust academic portfolio with at least twenty (20) scholarly publications.
- Must have sixteen (16) publications in print, out of which four (4) must be featured in at least three (3) different and regularly published foreign index journals.
- Provide verifiable evidence of successful supervision to completion of at least three (3) Master's degrees and one (1) PhD degree.
