About the Role
The Federal University Lafia invites applications from suitably qualified and accomplished academics for the position of Professor (Building) within our esteemed Faculty of Environmental Design. Established in 2011, our institution is committed to academic excellence, innovative research, and expanding access to high-quality university education in Nigeria. As a Professor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our Building department by driving cutting-air research, mentoring the next generation of professionals, and providing visionary academic leadership.
Key Responsibilities- Provide academic leadership in teaching, research, and community service within the Department of Building.
- Teach, mentor, and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students, including Masters and PhD candidates.
- Design, review, and update curriculum content to meet current industry standards and national development goals.
- Contribute significantly to institutional development through administrative duties, committee participation, and academic governance.
- Publish high-impact scholarly articles in reputable local and international index journals.
- Must currently hold the rank of Professor in Building or a closely related discipline from a recognized university.
- Demonstrate a strong publication record comprising at least twenty (20) publications, with sixteen (16) in print, including a minimum of four (4) in at least three (3) different and regularly published foreign index journals.
- Provide verifiable evidence of successful supervision of at least three (3) Masters degrees and one (1) PhD degree to completion.
- Possess excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills suited for a dynamic academic environment.
