The Federal University Lafia invites applications from suitably qualified and dynamic academics for the prestigious position of Professor of Agronomy within our esteemed Faculty of Agriculture. Key Responsibilities- Provide academic and administrative leadership within the Department of Agronomy and the Faculty of Agriculture.
- Teach, mentor, and inspire undergraduate and postgraduate students in various specialized areas of agronomy.
- Design, update, and implement cutting-edge curricula that align with global agricultural standards and national development needs.
- Conduct groundbreaking research and publish impactful findings in reputable peer-reviewed local and international journals.
- Supervise postgraduate students, including Masters and PhD candidates, through the successful completion of their research theses.
- Secure research grants, foster industry partnerships, and contribute to community outreach programs aimed at improving agricultural productivity.
- Participate actively in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committees to support institutional governance and strategic growth.
- Must currently hold the rank of Professor or possess equivalent academic standing in Agronomy or a closely related agricultural science discipline.
- Must possess a robust academic portfolio comprising at least twenty (20) scholarly publications, with sixteen (16) in print.
- Out of the printed publications, at least four (4) must be published in three (3) different and regularly published foreign indexed journals.
- Demonstrated evidence of successful supervision to completion of at least three (3) Masters degrees and one (1) PhD degree.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching, academic leadership, and administrative capacity within a recognized tertiary institution.
