We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Production Supervisor & Packing Shift In-Charge to lead our packaging operations, ensure strict compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and drive shift productivity.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, coordinate, and supervise all packaging activities during the assigned shift to ensure optimal efficiency and target achievement.
- Verify correct Batch Packaging Records (BPR), packaging materials, and products prior to the commencement of any shift.
- Ensure thorough line clearance is executed before start-up and immediately after batch completion.
- Monitor active packaging operations to guarantee strict adherence to approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and GMP regulations.
- Allocate machine operators effectively across packaging lines, supervising their daily activities and performance.
- Inspect all packaging equipment to verify cleanliness, fitness for use, and proper mechanical functionality prior to production.
- Conduct regular in-process quality checks to ensure all finished products meet stringent company and regulatory requirements.
- Perform accurate packaging material and finished product reconciliations to minimize operational discrepancies.
- Complete, review, and sign off on BPR documentation accurately and promptly.
- Identify, report, and investigate operational deviations, equipment breakdowns, and quality issues alongside relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with QA, Warehouse, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to resolve operational bottlenecks swiftly.
- Enforce rigorous safety, industrial hygiene, and good housekeeping protocols within the entire packaging environment.
- Train, coach, and assess packaging operators on best practices, SOPs, and GMP compliance.
- Ensure flawless product labeling, coding, serialization, and complete traceability.
- Participate actively in validation batches, change controls, CAPA implementation, and internal or external audit preparations.
- Possess a relevant Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma in Sciences, Pharmacy, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of proven supervisory experience within a manufacturing or pharmaceutical packaging environment.
- Comprehensive understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), regulatory standards, and safety guidelines.
- Strong leadership capability with a proven track record of coaching and managing production floor teams.
- Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficient in technical documentation, record-keeping, and operational reporting.
- Ability to work effectively in shifts and manage high-pressure production environments in Lagos, Nigeria.
