About the Role
Stova Industries Ltd, a fast-growing FMCG manufacturing industry renowned for exceptional quality products, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Product Development Manager (PDM). In this role, you will act as a key project manager coordinating the complete chemical product lifecycle—from ideation and research through development, validation, commercialization, and continuous improvement. You will be responsible for bringing innovative ideas from R&D activities to reality within our state-of-the-art chemical process environment.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee product development activities across Air Care, Home Care, Personal Care, Soap, and Detergent categories.
- Supervise the transition of chemical batches from bench-scale lab testing to pilot plants and full-scale factory manufacturing lines.
- Plan and coordinate internal and external product validation activities to assess performance, consumer acceptance, and market suitability.
- Evaluate raw material costs, manufacturing expenses, packaging costs, and overall product economics.
- Ensure that formulations, specifications, manufacturing processes, and documentation comply with NAFDAC requirements and relevant Nigerian and international standards.
- Collaborate closely with R&D, Marketing, Procurement, Quality Control, Production, and Supply Chain teams for seamless product launches.
- Analyze market demand, industry trends, and competitor research to identify and develop new product opportunities.
- Control development budgets, manage project timelines, and oversee project milestones.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Design, Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; advanced degrees or professional certifications are a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in chemical-product development, production, and managing product lifecycles.
- Strong technical understanding of product design, engineering principles, and prototyping tools.
- Solid business acumen in market analysis, project management, budgeting, and strategic planning.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
