About the Role
FMR Agency is seeking a dedicated and resourceful Procurement Officer to drive the procurement operations of a fast-paced supermarket business in Lagos. In this role, you will be instrumental in sourcing high-quality products, negotiating competitive pricing, and building lasting vendor relationships to ensure seamless daily operations and optimal inventory levels.
Key Responsibilities- Source and procure a wide range of goods and supplies required for daily supermarket operations.
- Evaluate, select, and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best quality products at competitive prices.
- Collaborate with inventory teams to monitor stock levels, prevent shortages, and avoid overstocking.
- Conduct regular market surveys across Lagos to identify pricing trends and cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare purchase orders and maintain accurate procurement documentation and records.
- Inspect and verify the quality and quantity of delivered goods against purchase orders.
- Resolve any vendor or delivery issues promptly to maintain operational continuity.
- Minimum of an OND in Business Administration, Purchasing and Supply, Logistics, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of proven procurement experience specifically within a supermarket or retail environment.
- Extensive knowledge of the Lagos supplier network and major commercial markets.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other productivity tools.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities.
