About the Role

MG Vowgas Group is a leading wholly Nigerian engineering, procurement, and construction company dedicated to driving local content development within the energy sector. We are currently seeking a dynamic and results-driven Procurement Officer to join our professional supply chain team in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a vital part in executing strategic sourcing initiatives, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality materials and services to support our large-scale engineering and marine projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Source and evaluate potential vendors and suppliers, negotiating favorable commercial terms and pricing.
  • Process purchase requisitions and issue official purchase orders in alignment with project timelines.
  • Ensure the timely procurement, delivery, and tracking of materials and services for ongoing operations and projects.
  • Monitor domestic and international market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supplier performance metrics.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, inventory logs, and comprehensive supply chain reports.
  • Ensure strict compliance with company procurement policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and cost-saving initiatives within the procurement lifecycle.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of proven professional experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably within the oil and gas or construction sector.
  • Strong working knowledge of procurement processes, contract management, and vendor appraisal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and enterprise resource planning (ERP) or specialized procurement software.
  • Active membership in relevant professional bodies such as CIPS or CIPSMN is a strong added advantage.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
