Process Safety and Risk Advisor

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Process Safety and Risk Advisor to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role provides comprehensive personnel safety and risk advisory support to operating assets and new development projects, helping to build a strong professional foundation while driving exceptional business results.

As a Process Safety and Risk Advisor, you will interface with internal customers, engineering disciplines, contractors, and regulatory agencies to promote safety excellence. Your primary duties will include:

• Advising customers on corporate and business line safety standards, ensuring cost-effective compliance with applicable regulations.
• Participating in risk discovery processes such as HAZOPs, PHAs, Scenario Based Risk Assessments, and risk screenings.
• Supporting the effective implementation of the Personnel Safety Management System (PSMS) and Operations Integrity Management System (OIMS).
• Applying the principles of Behavioral Safety, Human Performance, and Contractor Safety Management.
• Leading incident investigations to identify root causes, establish corrective measures, and share valuable lessons learned across sites.
• Providing both office-based and in-the-field support for operational assets and projects.

The ideal candidate for this Nigerian job opportunity must possess the following qualifications and skills:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering; a higher degree in Risk or Safety Engineering is a strong advantage.
• Zero to five (0-5) years of relevant oil and gas industry experience.
• Knowledge and application of process safety codes and standards (e.g., API 14C, 14J, NFPA) and consequence assessment modeling tools like PHAST.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Core functional skills in operations integrity, risk assessment, applied human performance, and emergency preparedness.
