About the Role
Proten is currently recruiting a dynamic and results-driven Procurement Officer to support and execute comprehensive procurement activities for various operational and project requirements. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in optimizing our supply chain operations, driving cost efficiencies, and maintaining the highest standards of integrity and compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Review purchase requisitions, BOQs, and technical specifications to determine precise project and operational procurement needs.
- Identify, prequalify, and evaluate potential suppliers based on technical capabilities, commercial credentials, and compliance requirements.
- Prepare, issue, and manage RFQs and RFPs to ensure the receipt of competitive and technically compliant quotations.
- Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to conduct thorough bid evaluations, technical assessments, and clarifications.
- Prepare detailed commercial bid comparisons and deliver actionable procurement recommendations.
- Process purchase orders and contracts in strict alignment with approved corporate procedures and delegation of authority.
- Monitor active supplier orders, tracking manufacturing progress, inspections, dispatch, and final site delivery.
- Coordinate seamlessly with logistics, warehousing, and project teams to guarantee timely delivery of materials.
- Ensure total compliance with company policies, procurement guidelines, and rigorous ethical standards with zero tolerance for fraud.
- Utilize ERP systems, MS Excel, and digital procurement tools for advanced data analysis, reporting, and process enhancement.
- Bachelor's degree (B.Eng./B.Sc.) or HND in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
- 5 to 6 years of proven professional experience in procurement, preferably within petrochemical, fertilizer, manufacturing, or heavy engineering environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in supplier evaluation, RFQ/RFP management, commercial bid analysis, and order expediting.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel including Pivot Tables, lookups, and data visualization tools, alongside familiarity with enterprise ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills.
