About the Role
Egbin Power Plc, located in Lagos, is the largest single generating power station in Sub-Saharan Africa, committed to meeting Nigeria's rising electricity demands with operational excellence and sustainability. We are currently seeking a dynamic and analytical Procurement Officer to ensure the timely and cost-effective sourcing of critical tools, spare parts, equipment, and operational materials across our plant. In this role, you will leverage digital procurement solutions, market intelligence, and data analytics to drive informed decision-making, optimize supply chains, and create sustainable value.
Key Responsibilities- Estimate and establish cost parameters, budgets, and purchasing strategies for plant operations.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, evaluating price options and negotiating optimal supply contracts.
- Issue requests for quotations for major equipment and services while preparing comprehensive technical and financial comparison sheets.
- Inspect incoming goods upon arrival to ensure strict compliance with quality standards and approve related invoices.
- Optimize procurement lead times and material costs while maintaining optimal stock levels to prevent downtime.
- Ensure full compliance with data protection laws (NDPR), integrated management systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001), and company safety policies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Maintenance, Instrumentation, and Control Engineering) or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 3 years of professional experience as an Engineer, Technical Procurement Officer, or in a similar supply chain role.
- Strong proficiency in digital analytics tools such as Power BI and advanced Microsoft Excel.
