About the Role
The Label Store is a leading retail supermarket dedicated to providing our customers with quality groceries, household products, and excellent customer service in a convenient shopping environment. We are currently seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and highly organized Procurement Officer to join our dynamic retail operations team in Nigeria. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing goods, negotiating with vendors, processing purchase orders, and ensuring the seamless availability of products across all our supermarket branches.
Key Responsibilities- Source and evaluate reliable suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery performance to secure the best value for the supermarket.
- Obtain and compare competitive quotations and manage purchase requisitions and procurement documentation efficiently.
- Negotiate favorable pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with vendors and FMCG distributors.
- Monitor retail inventory levels collaboratively with warehouse and branch teams to prevent stockouts and overstocking.
- Track orders from placement to delivery, resolving any supply chain or logistics discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain accurate procurement databases, supplier contracts, pricing schedules, and purchasing records.
- Reconcile vendor invoices and purchase orders with the finance department to ensure smooth payments.
- Prepare regular procurement reports, cost analyses, and purchasing forecasts for management review.
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Purchasing and Supply, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of proven procurement or purchasing experience within a retail supermarket, FMCG, or wholesale distribution environment in Nigeria.
- Strong working knowledge of inventory coordination, vendor management, and local retail market dynamics.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general office productivity tools.
