About the Role
Bistar Limited is a dynamic provider of specialized engineering, construction, water, environmental, and energy support services in Nigeria. We are currently seeking a diligent and results-driven Procurement Officer to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in optimizing our supply chain operations, ensuring that all engineering materials, tools, equipment, and site requirements are procured efficiently, cost-effectively, and in alignment with project timelines.
Key Responsibilities- Source, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors across engineering, construction, and industrial sectors.
- Obtain and compare quotations, negotiate competitive pricing, and secure favorable commercial terms.
- Manage end-to-end procurement processes from purchase requisitions and purchase orders to delivery tracking and documentation.
- Procure engineering materials, tools, heavy equipment, spare parts, consumables, and general site requirements.
- Monitor project procurement costs against approved budgets and implement effective cost-control measures.
- Maintain an organized, up-to-date procurement database, supplier register, and delivery records.
- Proven experience as a Procurement Officer, preferably within engineering, construction, oil and gas, or related industrial environments.
- Strong working knowledge of procurement best practices, inventory control, and supply chain management.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- High level of professional integrity, accountability, attention to detail, and confidentiality.
- Ability to thrive under pressure, manage multiple requisitions simultaneously, and meet strict project deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and relevant enterprise resource planning (ERP) or procurement software.
