About the Role
Java Design Concepts Ltd is a trusted leader in the Nigerian construction industry with over 20 years of experience delivering residential, commercial, high-rise, and infrastructure projects. We are currently seeking a responsible and detail-oriented Procurement & Inventory Officer to oversee site-level procurement and ensure seamless material availability across our active construction locations.
Key Responsibilities- Visit construction sites daily to monitor, audit, and take physical stock of building materials and supplies.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date digital and physical records of all materials received, issued, and remaining on-site.
- Identify material shortages, excesses, or discrepancies proactively to prevent project delays.
- Coordinate end-to-end procurement processes based on immediate and projected site requirements.
- Liaise with reliable suppliers to obtain competitive quotations, negotiate favorable pricing, and guarantee timely delivery.
- Verify all delivered items against purchase orders and waybills to ensure quality and quantity compliance.
- Collaborate closely with Site Engineers, Storekeepers, and Project Managers for optimal material control.
- Prepare comprehensive procurement and inventory reports for executive management.
- HND or B.Sc. Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related discipline.
- Proven 5 to 15 years of relevant experience, with a strong background in the construction industry.
- Demonstrated expertise in site procurement, stock control, and construction inventory management.
- In-depth knowledge of standard construction materials and local supplier networks in Nigeria.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong record-keeping capabilities.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
