About the Role
Ascentech Services Limited is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Procurement Engineer to join our client's team in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a crucial part in bridging the gap between technical operations and supply chain management, ensuring that our manufacturing facilities are always equipped with the highest quality materials and machinery.
Key Responsibilities- Source and procure engineering spare parts, heavy machinery, equipment, and specialized industrial materials.
- Identify, evaluate, and manage reliable local and international suppliers to build a robust vendor network.
- Obtain and rigorously compare quotations, negotiating competitive pricing and favorable payment terms.
- Prepare and process purchase orders accurately while tracking shipments to guarantee timely delivery.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Maintenance, Production, Stores, Finance, and QA teams to clarify technical requirements.
- Review technical specifications to ensure all procured items meet strict quality and safety standards.
- Monitor supplier performance, lead times, and overall cost-effectiveness continuously.
- Maintain precise procurement records and generate comprehensive inventory and purchasing reports.
- Ensure full compliance with company procurement policies, HSSE requirements, and ethical standards.
- Bachelor Degree or HND in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, Purchasing and Supply, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
- 3 to 5 years of proven experience in technical procurement, ideally within a fast-paced manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Deep understanding of technical specifications, industrial machinery, and engineering spare parts.
- Exceptional negotiation, supplier management, and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in ERP procurement software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Professional certification such as CIPS or CIPSMN serves as a distinct advantage.
