About the Role
Widows and Orphans Empowerment Organisation (WEWE) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Procurement and Operations Officer for the AfDB-funded Horticultural Supply Chain for Smallholder Farmers (HORTISUN) Project in Kaduna State. This 24-month initiative aims to enhance the competitiveness, resilience, and inclusiveness of Nigeria’s horticulture sector. You will play a critical role in ensuring all goods, services, and works are procured efficiently and transparently while supporting seamless project operations.
Key Responsibilities- Lead end-to-end procurement processes including planning, solicitation, evaluation, and contract award in compliance with AfDB/FAPA guidelines.
- Manage vendor databases, oversee prequalification, and ensure meticulous documentation for audits.
- Oversee general project operations, including office administration, asset management, and logistics.
- Coordinate timely delivery of goods, fleet management, and organization of project workshops and field missions.
- Liaise with finance and technical teams to track budgets, process vendor payments, and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Prepare regular procurement, operational progress, and completion reports for management and donors.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s Degree is an advantage).
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in procurement and operations management within donor-funded agricultural or development projects.
- Professional certifications such as CIPS, ISM, or equivalent are highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of AfDB, World Bank, or multilateral donor procurement regulations.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and IT proficiency including Microsoft Office and e-procurement systems.
