About the Role
The Dangote Group, Africa's leading industrial conglomerate, is seeking a highly skilled Process Safety Manager to join our Health, Safety, Environment & Fire department in Lagos, Nigeria. In this strategic role, you will develop, implement, and monitor our Process Safety Management (PSM) framework to prevent catastrophic incidents involving hazardous materials and operational processes, ensuring compliance with international standards and safeguarding our people and assets.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and maintain a robust Process Safety Management framework, ensuring alignment with statutory requirements and industry best practices.
- Lead hazard identification and risk assessment studies including HAZOP, HAZID, Bowtie, LOPA, and QRA to mitigate major accident hazards.
- Administer the Management of Change (MOC) process to review and approve technical changes affecting plant safety.
- Lead investigations of process safety incidents and near misses utilizing Root Cause Analysis methodologies.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, and Inspection teams to support asset integrity and reliability coordination.
- Drive competency development by delivering process safety training and fostering a strong safety culture focused on Zero Harm.
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Petroleum, or Industrial Engineering; Master's Degree is an added advantage.
- 8 to 15 years of relevant industrial experience, with at least 5 years dedicated to Process Safety Management in heavy manufacturing, petrochemicals, or oil and gas.
- Professional certifications such as CCPSC, NEBOSH PSM, CFSE, or ISO 45001 Lead Auditor are highly desirable.
- Advanced technical proficiency in PHA, HAZOP, LOPA, MOC, and Root Cause Analysis.
