About the Role

HBM Nigeria Plc (Formerly Lafarge Africa Plc), a leading building solutions company, is seeking a proactive and skilled Process Aide to join our dynamic production team. In this role, you will play a critical part in maintaining the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of our plant manufacturing equipment. You will serve as a key production inspector, monitoring equipment conditions, identifying operational issues, and executing timely corrective actions to maximize plant uptime and productivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all daily plant tasks in strict adherence to company safety rules, environmental standards, and LOTOTO procedures.
  • Conduct thorough running and shutdown inspections of raw mill, kiln, and finish mill systems to identify defects and report deviations to the CCRO.
  • Monitor equipment operation, troubleshoot process drift and preheater blockages, and complete accurate shift reports and inspection checklists.
  • Execute first-level maintenance activities, diaphragm slot cleaning, ball mill media loading, and refractory lining test drilling.
  • Supervise contractor activities through effective implementation of Contractor Safety Management (CSM) standards.
  • Support plant turnaround maintenance, root cause analysis, and maintain excellent housekeeping standards across all production areas.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
  • 2 to 5 years of relevant post-graduation experience within a cement manufacturing or heavy industrial plant environment.
  • Working knowledge of cement manufacturing processes, material conveying systems, and plant operating procedures.
  • Demonstrated practical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems with basic troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Valid experience operating mobile equipment such as Bobcats and forklifts.
  • Physical capability to perform demanding tasks, including heavy lifting, in an industrial setting.
