About the Role
Powergas Nigeria, a subsidiary of Powergas Africa, is the continent's leading compressed natural gas (CNG) distributor and pioneer in off-pipeline gas distribution. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced PRMS Engineer to join our growing engineering team in Nigeria. In this critical role, you will oversee Pressure Reduction and Metering Stations (PRMS), pressure regulators, and associated gas equipment, contributing directly to our mission of delivering reliable energy solutions where piped natural gas is unavailable.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the engineering, installation, inspection, commissioning, and operational readiness of PRMS facilities.
- Provide technical and site engineering oversight during PRMS installation projects, including high-pressure piping fabrication and welding inspection.
- Ensure full compliance with NMDPRA regulations, applicable engineering codes, ISO standards, and rigorous HSE requirements.
- Conduct equipment installation, pressure testing, functional checks, and system commissioning.
- Collaborate closely with Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to troubleshoot issues, optimize equipment performance, and execute risk mitigation strategies.
- Maintain safe, reliable, and efficient gas distribution operations across all assigned plant locations.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Proven professional experience working with Pressure Reduction & Metering Stations (PRMS), pressure regulators, and associated gas equipment.
- Strong working knowledge of NMDPRA regulations, ISO standards, and international oil and gas safety codes.
- Demonstrated expertise in high-pressure piping fabrication, welding inspection, and pressure testing.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
