About the Role
Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited is an independent Nigerian energy firm that emerged as a major player in the oil and gas industry after acquiring Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited (SPDC). We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Principal PACO Engineer to provide Process Automation Control and Optimization discipline engineering support and technical authority to the HA and HB-Buko projects during their design, construction, and commissioning phases. These strategic projects aim to deliver significant gas supplies to the NLNG Train-7 alongside oil and condensate for export. The ideal candidate will ensure operations and maintenance requirements are fully captured, driving flawless project delivery, technical integrity, and seamless integration with smart field technologies.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage internal PACO engineers and third-party contractors across design, fabrication, installation, and commissioning scopes.
- Provide technical support to bridge project interfaces with internal and external stakeholders, including asset teams, design contractors, JV partners, and regulatory agencies.
- Ensure all design decisions comply with relevant group standards, project management blueprints, design engineering manuals, and HSE policies.
- Drive team HSE performance with a zero-incident mindset regarding design and technical integrity.
- Provide technical assurance on design points and ensure compliance with specified control point sign-offs.
- Contribute to cost-competitive budgeting and eliminate operational inefficiencies to achieve top-quartile plant availability and minimal maintenance costs.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 14 years of relevant experience in Process Automation Control and Optimization within the oil and gas industry.
- Demonstrated experience with offshore platforms, FPSOs, or onshore terminals.
- Deep expertise in plant automation, process control, safeguarding, system integration, and managing Main Automation Contractors (MAC) such as Emerson DeltaV.
- Hands-on experience with pre-commissioning and commissioning of PLCs, DCS, SIS, and third-party vendor packages including gas turbines and compressors.
- Comprehensive knowledge of HSSE frameworks, international engineering standards, and Nigerian oil and gas design codes.
