We are currently recruiting a dedicated Principal Laboratory Scientist for our operations in Warri. In this senior role, you will perform complex and specialized laboratory testing, provide crucial technical resources to colleagues, and uphold rigorous quality assurance standards.
Key Responsibilities- Perform complex and specialized laboratory testing while serving as a technical resource for colleagues.
- Provide day-to-day guidance, mentorship, and supervision for junior staff and trainees.
- Ensure strict compliance with biosafety regulations and support quality assurance protocols at the section level.
- Contribute actively to departmental audits, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing professional development (CPD).
- Identify equipment faults and maintain accurate, up-to-date operational records.
- Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) from a recognized institution.
- Completion of mandatory national internship and NYSC, or possession of a valid exemption certificate.
- Minimum of 5 years of post-registration experience in medical laboratory science practice beyond entry level.
- Demonstrated experience in supporting, guiding, and mentoring junior medical laboratory staff.
- Advanced knowledge of multi-disciplinary laboratory practices, quality control, and biosafety standards.
- Specialty training or relevant professional certifications will be considered a strong advantage.
